A 42-year-old west suburban man is in jail Wednesday after allegedly arranging a sexual liaison with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl to whom he sent explicit webcam video of himself.
Larry A. Larson of 15 E. Lyncliff in Oswego was arrested Tuesday night and charged with indecent solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a minor and grooming, all felonies, according to a release from Naperville police.
Larson was arrested at 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the YMCA at 2060 W. 95th St. in Naperville, where he had allegedly arranged to meet the 14-year-old, who was actually an undercover police officer, for the purpose of having sex, the release said.
The arrest was the result of a weeklong online investigation that started when Larson allegedly tried to set up the meeting with the girl, in an online chat room, according to Naperville police Sgt. Gregg Bell.
He also sent webcam video of himself which were sexually explicit to the "victim," the release said.
A Naperville police detective who was the online persona of the girl was asked to meet Larson to initiate a sexual relationship, Bell said. Larson allegedly arranged the meeting in Naperville, where he was arrested.
A search warrant was executed for his home and several computers were recovered for forensic examination and possible further charges.
Larson was being held in the Will County Jail after bond was set at $60,000 on Wednesday, Bell said.
