Armed Man Barricades Himself On South Side

Subject Reportedly On Druge

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― An armed man who was allegedly on drugs has reportedly holed himself up inside a residence on the South Side Tuesday morning.

About 4:40 a.m. the armed man who was reportedly on drugs was inside a residence in the 7700 block of South Kingston Avenue, according to a law enforcement source.

He reportedly struck his girlfriend with a weapon and she left the residence, according to the source, who said the armed man remained inside.

The Chicago Fire Department responded to the 7800 block of South Kingston Avenue with an ambulance as of 6:25 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Joe Roccasalva.

Police units remain on the scene as of 6:20 a.m.
