3-Year-Old Wisconsin Boy Accidentally Kills Self
Police: Boy Shot Himself In Chest With Gun On Nightstand
KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) ―
Police say a 3-year-old Kenosha boy apparently found a pistol that was kept in a nightstand and accidentally shot himself in the chest.
Joshua Lesnick was pronounced dead after being taken to St. Catherine's Medical Center.
Police Sgt. Eric Larsen says the boy was home with his mother, Jessica Lesnick, and 5-year-old brother at the time of the shooting, which was reported this morning at 9:23 a.m. at the family's two-story home. His father, Michael Lesnick, was at work.
According to police, the mother was in a second-floor bathroom when she heard a "bang," and when she went in her bedroom she found the boy on the floor, wounded. The other child was downstairs on the first floor.
The shooting remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
