Movie Director's Brother Accused In Escape Attempt
Matthew Nolan Was Being Held In Chicago On Charges Of Murder In Costa Rica
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
The brother of the director of "The Dark Knight" was apparently planning his own Batman-style escape from the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
Matthew Nolan, the brother of "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan, is being held at the MCC, accused of a murder in Costa Rica.
Authorities say he was planning to bust out of his cell and scale down the side of the building.
The Chicago Tribune reported that he had a rope made from bed sheets, a harness, a razor, and a metal clip to unlock handcuffs.
Nolan is charged in Costa Rica with the 2005 murder of Florida accountant Robert Cohen. A judge ruled that he can be extradited to Costa Rica, but only on charges of using a phony British passport, the Tribune reported.
