Crash Shuts Down I-55 In Far Southwest Suburbs

CHANNAHON, Ill. (STNG) ― All lanes of southbound I-55 were closed early Friday morning after a crash near southwest suburban Channahon.

A vehicle and semi truck collided at 4:17 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-55 near Arsenal Road, according to Illinois State Police Joliet District Master Sgt. Cheryl Lisy.

Ambulances were sent to the scene, but no injuries have been reported as of 4:45 a.m., Lisy said.

All southbound lanes were closed at 4:45 a.m. while State Police conduct an investigation, Lisy said.
