Indiana Man Arrested For Attacks On Female Drivers
CHICAGO (STNG) ―
A man wanted for allegedly attacking one woman and attempting to attack another after their vehicles were rear-ended last week on the South Side has been arrested.
Jeffery Slowinski, 28, of Whiting, Ind., was arrested Thursday in the 3400 block of East 118th Street in connection with two incidents that occurred within minutes of each other on July 17.
In the first incident at about 3:40 a.m., a lone female motorist was rear-ended in the 3000 block of East 106th Street by a white two-door car. The woman stopped her vehicle and was approached by the man driving the other car, who struck her several times in the face and attempted to pull her into his vehicle. The woman was able to break free and escape, according to an alert from Calumet Area detectives.
About 20 minutes later, another lone female driver was rear-ended in the 10000 block of South Commercial Avenue. She drove toward the South Chicago District police station following the accident and the vehicle that struck her fled, according to the alert.
Subsequent to his arrest, Slowinski was also identified as the suspect who allegedly attacked a woman on March 25 at Rowan Park on the Southeast Side. In that incident, the victim was battered and sexually assaulted in the 11300 block of South Avenue L, according to a police News Affairs.
Slowinski was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, attempted murder and attempted criminal sexual assault, according to News Affairs.
He is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday afternoon.
