Man Fatally Shot In Humboldt Park
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A 35-year-old man is dead following a shooting Friday night in the West Side's Humboldt Park neighborhood.
The victim, identified as Juan Torres, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman, was discovered on the street on the 1300 block of North Campbell Avenue with gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen, according to a report from the police First Deputy Superintendent's office.
Torres was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 7:50 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office spokesman.
Torres' home address was not immediately available.
The shooting is believed possibly to have been a drive-by, according to police.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
