Horse Wounded In Drive-By Shooting In Indiana
VALPARAISO, Ind. (Post-Tribune) ―
A rural northwest Indiana man's Paso Fino riding horse was found limping and bleeding on Tuesday after apparently being hurt in a drive-by shooting.
The man and his wife heard approximately five rapid gunshots around 11 p.m. Monday in the 400 West block of County Road 400N, just west of Valparaiso. Immediately after, they heard a vehicle squeal its tires and drive east.
A veterinarian examined the horse Tuesday and determined it was shot in the front shoulder and rear hip with a small-caliber weapon. She chose not to remove the bullets, according to the police report.
At the time of the shooting, the animal was in a pasture about 20 feet south of County Road 400N and near its owners' residence.
