Holy Name Cathedral To Reopen On Limited Basis
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
The Archdiocese of Chicago announced Friday that Holy Name Cathedral will reopen on a limited basis beginning late next month.
Masses and weddings will resume at Holy Name Cathedral beginning on Saturday, Aug. 30, with the 5:15 p.m. mass, according to the Archdiocese.
The cathedral will be open on a limited basis while miscellaneous repairs continue. Daily masses will continue to be held in the Parish Center auditorium.
The cathedral at 735 N. State St. has been closed since early February when a 10-pound piece of the 134-year-old wooden decorative ceiling fell 70 feet to the floor.
