The theft of several valuable tools set back the construction of these Habitat for Humanity houses in Riverdale.

Volunteers busy building a new home a family in Riverdale suffered a serious setback last week, when someone stole thousands of dollars worth of tools.
CBS 2 is part of the Habitat for Humanity effort to build the new home Carla Buchanan, a single, working mother of three who was expecting her house to be ready in November.
But the theft has significantly slowed down the project and other houses being constructed neaby, said David Tracy of Habitat for Humanity.
"We lost time because we lost tools. That means that all the volunteers we've had to search for alternative projects," Tracy said. "So we're really hurting right now."
The plan had been to have Buchanan, a first-time homeowner, in the house by Thanksgiving, Tracy said.
"We're still optimistic. You have to be optimistic in this business," Tracy said. "But we certainly could use some help in replacing those tools."
Among the tools lost were pass load nail guns, a sliding miter saw, an air compressor, and other power hand tools, Tracy said.
"The best way to help us would be to help us raise some money to replace those tools, or if somebody happens to go in a store or whatever, pass along the benefit of a donation," Tracy said.
CBS 2's Kristyn Hartman is among those helping the project, and was on the site over the weekend. She says progress is continuing despite the setback, and volunteers are as dedicated as ever.
