Man Killed, 2 Others Hurt In Garfield Park Crash

A Chicago man was killed and two other people injured Tuesday morning after a vehicle reportedly struck another vehicle, a pedestrian and a bicyclist in the West Side's Garfield Park neighborhood.
Paramedics responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle about 7:26 a.m. at the corner of Madison Street and Pulaski Road, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado said. An EMS Plan I was called for the crash.
Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien, citing preliminary reports, said a vehicle struck a pedestrian, another vehicle and a bicyclist.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman identified the victim as Johnny Bell, 55, of the 1600 block of West Madison Street, a spokesman said. Bell was the pedestrian struck in the crash, the spokesman said.
Two people were originally taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, one in extremely critical condition and the other in serious to critical condition, Rosado said. A third was taken in serious but stable condition to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park.
The police Major Accidents Investigations Unit is still on the scene probing the crash as of 1 p.m., police said.
