Police: Man Tried To Attack 2 Female Motorists

CHICAGO (STNG) ― Police are asking for the public's help in apprehending a man suspected of rear-ending the vehicles of two separate female motorists, then attempting to pull at least one of them into his car Thursday morning on the South Side.

In the first incident about 3:40 a.m., a lone female motorist was rear-ended in the 3000 block of East 106th Street by a white two-door car driven by an unknown man. The woman stopped her vehicle after the accident and the man approached her car, struck her several times in the face and attempted to pull her into his vehicle, according to a release from police News Affairs.

The woman was able to break free from her attacker and escape safely, the release said.

However, 20 minutes later and just blocks away, another lone female driver was rear-ended in the 10000 block of South Commercial Avenue. The motorist drove toward the South Chicago district police station following the accident, prompting the vehicle that struck her to flee, police said in the release.

The suspect is described as a white man about 28 years old, who is 5-foot-5 and 250 pounds. He has blond hair and a fair complexion, according to the release. The vehicle he was seen driving in both incidents is described as a white 2-door, possibly a 1990-1995 Chevrolet Lumina.

Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to call Calumet Area detectives at (312) 747-8271.
