Man Slain While Smoking Cigarette Outside Bar
CHICAGO (STNG) ―
A man who left a tavern to smoke a cigarette was fatally shot Sunday night in the West Englewood neighborhood.
The shooting occurred at 10:33 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Ashland Avenue, according to police News Affairs.
Bruce Peebles, 56, of 7935 S. Parnell Ave., was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:40 a.m., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman.
The man left the bar to smoke a cigarette and was later discovered on the street with an apparent gunshot wound to the head, police said.
No one was in custody for the shooting at 6 a.m.
