The 25-year-old man accused of the fatal bludgeoning of a 71-year-old woman and her dog last month in her South Shore basement was indicted Thursday.
Danelo Solis of the 3400 block of West 37th Place was formally charged with seven counts of first-degree murder, four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated cruelty to animals, according to Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin.
Solis, 25, is accused of raping and murdering Dorothy Taylor Brown, who was discovered bludgeoned and strangled to death with her poodle Frisky on June 16 in the 7200 block of South Coles Avenue, police said.
