Tenant In Custody In Edison Park Neighbohrood Incident

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― A tenant is in custody for the early Thursday fatal stabbing of her Edison Park neighborhood landlord.

The 54-year-old landlord was found dead in the kitchen of a home in the 6400 block of West Touhy Avenue about 12:30 a.m., police said.

A 49-year-old woman allegedly pulled a knife during a possibly domestic-related argument and stabbed the man in the neck, according to police News Affairs.

Police said the woman lives in the building owned by the victim. Their relationship was not immediately known.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:17 a.m. after he was stabbed 6425 W. Touhy Ave., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, which was not releasing the man's name pending family notification.

The woman is in custody early Thursday, but no charges have been filed as of 3:30 a.m.
