FBI On Scene Of Edgewater Armed Bank Robbery

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― A man armed with a semi-automatic handgun robbed a bank in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side early Friday afternoon.

A black male who displayed a handgun robbed the North Community Bank branch at 5342 N. Broadway about 1:30 p.m., according to FBI spokeswoman Cynthia Yates, who was citing preliminary information.

The weapon was not fired and there were no injuries, according to Yates.

FBI agents remained on the scene as of 1:55 p.m.
