2 Dead, 4 Injured In West Suburban Fire
Fire Broke Out In Unincorporated Keeneyville, Near Hanover Park
UNINCORPORATED KEENEYVILLE, Ill. (CBS) ―
A man and a woman were killed and four others injured in a residential fire Monday afternoon in the unincorporated community of Keeneyville Monday afternoon, according to DuPage County Sheriff's office.
The fire started about 2 p.m. at 24W630 Lawrence Avenue in the unincorporated area just south of Hanover Park in DuPage County.
Two people died and another four were taken to hospitals from the blaze, according to DuPage County Sheriff's office spokeswoman Dawn Domrose.
Steven N. Elliott, 32, and Lori Ann Breese, 37, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A man identified as Cesar L. Euan, who lived at the Lawrence Avenue address, and a woman identified as Edith L. Hernandez of Bolingbrook, were injured in the fire, as were an 11-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy. They were all taken to Glen Oaks Hospital in Glendale Heights, but their conditions were not known.
Autopsies will be performed later Tuesday.
The fire was reportedly in a one and a half story frame home, according to dispatch reports.
The cause of the fire was unknown and remained under investigation Monday evening, according to the DuPage County coroner's office.
