Fly Infestation Shutters Near West Side Dominick's

Spokeswoman: Store To Reopen Friday

CHICAGO (CBS) ― A grocery store on the city's Near West Side just north of Greektown was shut down until midday Friday because of a fly infestation.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the Dominick's at 1 N. Halsted St. is closed because of fruit flies, and even larger flies in the rear of the store.

The store had reopened by 12:10 p.m. Friday, Dominick's spokeswoman Wynona Redmond told CBS 2.

No one from the Chicago Health Department was immediately available.
