Police in Minneapolis say they've found the body of a four-year-old boy at a home where he was staying when he was reported missing last week. And they've arrested a woman originally from Chicago in the case.
She was not immediately charged. TV news reports say she's an adult cousin who had been caring for the boy, four-year-old Demond Reed.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office is trying to determine how and when Demond died, but police say they're investigating it as a homicide.
His grandmother, Charmon Brown of the Chicago area, told KSTP-TV she had trusted the cousin to take care of Demond, but that the cousin had hurt the boy, and would not admit it at first.
Brown told the station she realized something was wrong when the boy disappeared Wednesday and the cousin couldn't tell a straight story about what happened.
Reed's mother lives in Chicago. She sent him to visit his father in Minneapolis late last year.
The boy had been staying with relatives since his father's arrest last month on an unrelated charge.
