2 Men Found Stabbed At 'L' Stops

1 Found At Library Stop Downtown, Other At Lawrence Red Line Stop In Uptown

CHICAGO (STNG) ― Two men were stabbed at CTA 'L' train stations in separate incidents late Tuesday, police said.

A man was found stabbed at the Library station at 25 W. Van Buren St. about 10 p.m., police News Affairs Officer David Banks said.

The man was taken to Northwestern University Medical Center in an unidentified condition, Banks said.

CTA spokeswoman Wanda Taylor said Orange, Pink and Green Line trains were delayed about 10 minutes while police investigated. The station services the Orange and Pink lines, but Green Line trains were also delayed because Orange and Pink Line trains were stopped on the tracks.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.

About 11:40 p.m., police were called to the Red Line's Lawrence station at 1117 W. Lawrence Ave. for reports of a man stabbed, Banks said. A CTA security guard told a source the man was stabbed on the platform.

The man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in an unidentified condition, Banks said.

Police requested CTA Red Line trains bypass the Lawrence station during an investigation, Taylor said. The station was reopened about 3:20 a.m.

Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
