Twenty people were hurt Nov. 18 in a crash involving a CTA bus on the Near West Side.

Twenty people were hurt in a crash involving a CTA bus Tuesday morning on the city's Near West Side.
The crash happened at Roosevelt Road and Blue Island Avenue, fire officials said. A No. 12 Roosevelt Chicago Transit Authority bus and two other vehicles were involved. A blue car slammed into the back of the bus, and a white car apparently struck the wrought-iron fence that separates the sidewalk from the campus of St. Ignatius College Prep, 1076 W. Roosevelt Rd.
Going northeast from Roosevelt Road, Blue Island Avenue is a driveway for the Jesuit high school.
A total of 20 patients were taken from the scene to various hospitals 19 were from the bus including the bus driver.
None of the injuries on the bus were serious. The driver of the blue car that hit the bus was in serious to critical condition while being transported to the hospital.
The driver of the car that hit the bus was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital. The people on the bus were taken to Mt. Sinai, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Mercy Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, Rush University Medical Center, the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, and Stroger Hospital of Cook County.
In a notice to parents and guardians on the Web site for St. Ignatius, a message was posted saying there were no students or staff from the school inovlved in the crash.
"Let us keep the injured and their families in our prayers," the notice said in part.
