Judge: Craig Stebic May Have His Guns Back

Wife Lisa Stebic Has Been Missing For More Than A Year

JOLIET, Ill. (AP) ― A Will County judge has decided to return weapons seized from a Plainfield man whose wife has been missing for more than a year.

But Judge Richard Schoenstedt on Tuesday said Craig Stebic first needs to find someone with a valid firearm owner's ID card to receive the 24 guns.

Illinois State Police revoked Stebic's gun card last month.
The judge says a seized pickup truck will stay with police investigating Lisa Stebic's disappearance for now.

Craig Stebic has been named a "person of interest" in the disappearance of his wife, but he hasn't been charged with any wrongdoing.

Schoenstedt set the next hearing on the seized items for Sept. 5.
