Car To Be Returned To Craig Stebic

Wife Lisa Stebic Has Been Missing For Nearly A Year

PLAINFIELD, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Craig Stebic can have his Saturn returned, it was decided Wednesday, but he'll have to wait a few more weeks to find out if he can have his weapons and pickup.

Stebic's wife Lisa was reported missing May 1. During an overnight search of Stebic's house May 15, police took, among other things, his Chevrolet S-10 pickup, Saturn Ion, 24 guns and ammunition.

On Feb. 28, Stebic's attorney George Lenard filed a motion to have the items returned.

Before the hearing began this morning, Judge Richard Schoenstedt and the Will County State's Attorney's Office agreed Stebic could have his Saturn. But it was decided that a status hearing would be necessary Friday before Stebic could take the vehicle.

As for the other items taken as evidence, Will County Judge Richard Schoenstedt set another hearing date for April 24.

Stebic did not appear in court Wednesday.
