Cook County Jail Lifts H1N1 Restrictions
Visitors Had Been Limited Over Communicable Disease Worries
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
Fears over the spread of the H1N1 flu seem to be subsiding at the Cook County Jail.
The jail is lifting restrictions on visits that were
enacted back in May by the Cook County Sheriff's office.
The jail had been limiting visits to lawyers, clergy and immediate family members over the age of 18.
There have been 26 H1N1 cases among the inmate population of more than 9,000. The jail was isolating sick inmates and those who were exposed to them from the general population.
