CHICAGO (STNG) ― A Chicago Police officer was bitten on the arm Thursday after conducting a traffic stop in the South Side Pullman neighborhood.

About 1:15 p.m., an officer was conducting a traffic stop in the 11900 block of South Stewart Avenue when an offender bit him on the arm, police News Affairs Officer John Henry said.

Preliminary reports stated the offender was a woman, Henry said.
An ambulance took the officer to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island in good condition, Fire Media Affairs Asst. Director Eve Rodriguez said.

Further details were not immediately available, and the offender had not been charged as of 4:30 p.m., Henry said.
