Cicero Cop Charged With Skimming Funds
Gerald Bossolono Arrested By Cook County State's Attorney's Investigators
CICERO, Ill. (CBS) ―
A Cicero police officer stands charged with skimming thousands of dollars from his department's fraternal organization.
Gerald Bossolono, 46, was arrested by investigators from the Cook County State's Attorney's office Wednesday when he arrived at work, on charges of felony theft.
Prosecutors say Bossolono used his pension of the Cicero Police Benevolent Association to embezzle more than $70,000 in funds that belonged to the organization. The group raises funds by collecting membership dues and holding social functions.
If convicted, Bossolono could be sentenced to up to seven years in prison. He is set for a bond hearing Thursday morning at the Maybrook Courthouse in Maywood.
