Teen Shot And Killed In Chicago Heights

CHICAGO (STNG) ― A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot within a block of his south suburban home Saturday night.

Joseph Fleming, of 1951 Concord Dr. in Chicago Heights, was pronounced dead at Saint James Hospital and Health Centers in Olympia Fields at 8:46 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Police responded to a shooting at 1934 Revere St. in Chicago Heights about 7:24 p.m., according to Chicago Heights police.

The teen was shot on the street and ran to his home, less than a block away, where he died, police said.

Police say the shooter fled in an unknown vehicle.

Chicago Heights detectives are investigating.
