A CTA bus driver was ticketed Tuesday after the bus she was driving plowed into the side of a home on the Far South Side.
Zoye Sanders, 36, was cited with negligent driving, according to police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
Four people, including Sanders, were taken to hospitals Tuesday morning
after the southbound Pullman/111th/115th bus struck the home at 11465 S. Vincennes Ave.
The building was almost immediately deemed unsafe by the Department of Buildings, according to spokesman Bill McCaffrey. Demolition is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
The house is owned by the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, and LaSharon Smith lives there with her three children. They were able to walk away without any visible injuries following the accident.
"We're fine. That's all I want to say," Smith said Tuesday morning. "Thank God we're fine."
Neighbors said this was the third time in about a year that the home has been struck by a vehicle. This was the first time it has been struck by a bus, though.
