Fire Evacuates Condo Building In Buffalo Grove

One Condo Unit Destroyed

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― A condominium unit was rendered uninhabitable after a fire started in northwest suburban Buffalo Grove Tuesday afternoon.

At 12:50 p.m., a babysitter in unit 210 of the two-story condo at 725 Grove Dr. called for help when a fire started, said Buffalo Grove police officer Scott Eisenmenger. No one was hurt, according to the officer.

The entire building was evacuated for about an hour, and residents were allowed back in, Eisenmenger said.

The fire was contained to the unit where it started, and it was rendered uninhabitable because of smoke damage. It is unclear how the fire started, the officer said.
