Man Charged With Shooting At Bolingbrook Denny's
BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (CBS) ―
A southwest suburban man has been charged with shooting another man in the face during a dispute at a Denny's restaurant in Bolingbrook.
Crenly Galindo, 34, of 16024 Arborvitae Circle in Crest Hill was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, according to Bolingbrook police.
Police initially reported that Galindo was charged with murder, but Lt. Michael Rompa said about 10:30 a.m. that the victim had not died. He remained at Advocate Good Smaritan Hospital in Downers Grove in an unknown condition.
Galindo allegedly got into an argument with the victim, Jose Perez, 25, inside the restaurant located along Route 53 in Bolingbrook, police said.
Galindo then pulled out a small handgun and fired a single shot into Perez's face and fled from the Denny's on foot, police said.
Police caught up with Galindo in a townhome subdivision adjacent to the mall where the Denny's is located, and arrested him. The weapon, a .22-caliber handgun, was recovered, police said.
Galindo is being held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility, according to police.
