Gag Order Issued In Barrington High Rape Case

Barrington High student Bruce A. Johnston was arrested by Barrington Hills police for sexually assaulting two female students.

A gag order was issued Tuesday by McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather asking those involved in the case of a man accused of sexually assaulting two females not to talk to the media.
Bruce Johnston, 18, of in Tower Lakes was arrested April 26 on two counts of criminal sexual assault against a 17-year-old and a minor girl, both classmates at Barrington High School.
The alleged incidents both took place at a private residence in Barrington Hills on April 24 and 25.
Supporters of Johnston were gathered in the courtroom, leaving with his attorney, Bob Hanaford, after the order was issued.
Johnston is in McHenry County jail, unable to post the $150,000 bond.
He is next due in court at 9 a.m. May 20.
