FBI Searches For Bank Robber With Flimsy Disguise

The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information about a robber who has committed three bank robberies in Oak Lawn, all while wearing a crude and flimsy disguise.
The robber, dubbed the Oak Lawn Bandit, is suspected in two separate robberies at the TCF Bank Branch at 9801 S. Cicero Ave., on April 26 and Oct. 1 of this year. He is also suspected at in a robbery of the Standard Bank branch at 4700 W. 111th St. on Sept. 21 of this year, the FBI said.
In the most recent bank robbery, the man came up to employees opening the bank at 8 a.m., pushed them into the bank, and further into an employee break room while threatening them, the FBI said. The bandit also brandished a handgun, the FBI said.
He made off with an undisclosed amount of money, and fled on foot, the FBI said.
The Oak Lawn Bandit is described as a white or Hispanic man around 30 years old, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 250 pounds, and speaking unaccented English. He wears a crude disguise with sunglasses, white surgical tape across his nose, a fake mustache and a stocking cap over a cheap pony tail wig, the FBI said.
