Bank Branch Robbed For Third Time
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A man who implied he had a weapon robbed a Lake View neighborhood bank Tuesday morning.
This was at least the third time in the last
two-and-a-half years this branch has been robbed. Robbers struck in
September 2006 and on Oct. 15, 2007. The
man gave a teller at the North Community Bank branch at 3180 N.
Broadway a note demanding money, according to FBI spokeswoman Cynthia
Yates. The robber implied he had a gun, Yates said, citing preliminary
information.
FBI agents were at the scene as of about 10:20 a.m.
Though the robbery took place Tuesday morning, Yates did not yet know
the exact time.
