Teens Try To Abduct Girl On Northwest Side

CHICAGO (STNG) ― Chicago Police are warning the community after the attempted abduction of a 9-year-old girl last week in the Northwest Side Sauganash neighborhood.

At about 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, the girl was walking in the 6200 block of North Leroy Avenue when a small black car pulled up and two male teens called out to her, "Hey little girl come here," according to a Sept. 10 alert from Jefferson Park District police.

When the girl refused, the teen sitting in the passenger seat got out of the vehicle and chased her. She ran home and went inside before he could catch her.

Police described the driver as white male 16-20 with blond hair, wearing a black, tan and green camouflage shirt. The passenger was described as black, male 14-17 wearing a Chicago White Sox hat, black leather jacket and baggy green work pants.

Police are advising children to walk in groups, and run to a neighbor's house or business and call 911 if they see any suspicious cars or people.
Anyone with information should call Grand Central Area detectives at (312) 746 8282.
