Police: Shooting On Ashland Avenue Was Gang-Related

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― One teen was shot in the leg and another through his pants during a Wednesday night gang-related attack in the Wicker Park neighborhood.

The teens, ages 18 and 19, were outside at 1340 N. Ashland Ave. when they were shot at 5:58 p.m., a Shakespeare District police lieutenant said.

The 19-year-old was shot in the leg, and gunshot went through the other man's pants leg but he was not struck, the lieutenant said.

The wounded man was treated and released from Stroger Hospital of Cook County, according to the lieutenant, who said the shooter was not in custody at 2 a.m. Thursday and the attack was gang-related.
