Bond was set at $1.5 million Friday for the fourth teen charged in the murder of 10-year-old fifth-grader Arthur Jones, who was hit by a stray bullet during a gang confrontation Oct. 17 on the South Side.
Clarence Williams, 19, is charged with first-degree murder, according to a release from police News Affairs. Williams is expected to appear in Cook County Criminal Court later Friday, according to News Affairs Officer Marcel Bright.
Williams is the fourth person charged in the murder, and police not seeking any other suspects, Bright said.
Three teens have already been charged in connection with the death.
Lesean Jackson and Steven McCaskill, both 17, have pleaded not guilty in the fatal Oct. 17 shooting, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin said. Jackson faces six counts of murder while McCaskill faces two counts of murder.
A 14-year-old boy also faces murder charges for allegedly handling the weapon used in the Englewood shooting.
Witnesses identified Jackson as one of at least two people who fired shots during a gang confrontation between the Black P-Stones and Gangster Disciples, police said. Arthur was struck by stray bullets as he walked with a friend to a fast-food restaurant about 4:35 p.m. in the 700 block of West Garfield Boulevard.
The 10-year-old died less than an hour later at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Prosecutors allege McCaskill went to his grandmother's home and retrieved the gun. Police said he admitted "passing the weapon."
