Woman 'Snaps' Neck In South Side Crash
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
Police said a woman "snapped" her neck in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night on the South Side.
The 53-year-old woman was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, an officer for the police Major Accident Investigation Unit said. The officer said the woman "snapped her neck."
"It don't think she'll make it, but she hasn't died yet," the officer said.
The two-vehicle crash happened just after 3 p.m. in the 8200 block of South Western Avenue, and one vehicle ended up slamming into a viaduct.
A second woman, believed to be in her mid 40s, was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in "stable" condition, the officer said.
