Congressman Davis Files In 2 Election Races
CHICAGO (AP) ―
Congressman Danny Davis says he doesn't think filing petitions in two races for the February primary election will hurt his image with voters.
Davis says voters have nothing to be concerned about, and he's genuine in his intentions for both offices.
The Chicago Democrat submitted his petition for re-election to his 7th congressional district post Monday. Last week, he submitted a petition for Cook County board president.
Davis has until Nov. 9 to drop out of one of the races.
Davis says he's still unsure which race he'll pursue and he can't make a decision until he knows which other candidates are running.
Davis was first elected to Congress in 1996. The 7th district includes downtown Chicago and some western suburbs.
