Chicago's Mail Delivery Worst in Nation
Over night Delivery Rate of 91 Percent
CHICAGO (AP) ―
Chicago's mail-delivery record has a lot to be desired.
According to the U.S. Postal Service's most recent audit, overnight delivery in the city ranks the worst in the nation.
The audit found that first-class mail sent between Chicago zip codes made it to the correct address the next day 91 percent of the time. The cities that fared best in the audit had deliver rates of around 97 percent.
The audit was for mail delivered between June and September of 2008.
