Car Slams Into Lincoln Park Restaurant
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
Nobody was injured when a car smashed into a Lincoln Park neighborhood restaurant early Wednesday evening following a two-car crash.
Emergency crews responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident with one car going into the Sapori Trattori restaurant, 2701 N. Halsted St., according to Fire Media Affairs Asst. Director Eve Rodriguez. The restaurant is located at the northeast corner of Halsted Street and Schubert Avenue.
Police responded to the incident about 3:30 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer David Banks, who said preliminary reports indicated a driver made an illegal left turn and landed on a sidewalk.
Nobody was injured in the crash, Rodriguez said. A witness, however, said the car caused significant damage to the restaurant.
Police did not have information regarding citations late Wednesday.
