Police Probe Northwest Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STNG) ― Two men were shot early Friday in the Northwest Side's Irving Park neighborhood.

The men, both 18 years old, were shot about 1:40 a.m. while traveling in a vehicle in the 3200 block of North Kimball Avenue, police said.

A red SUV approached the victims' vehicle and somebody inside the SUV flashed gang signs and shot the men, police said. The SUV fled the scene after the shooting.

Both men were taken in good condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. One man suffered a gunshot wound to the left shoulder and the other had a graze wound to the neck, police said.

Grand Central Area detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody early Friday.
