IOC Considering Options to Aid In 2016 Decision
Questions Were Posed to Committee Members in a Poll
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
There is no comment from The U.S olympic committee tonight on how it'll proceed with the competition to bid for the 2016 summer Olympics.
The decision was made this afternoon, but a spokesman says Chicago and the other four bidders won't be officially notified until early next week.
Options the committee is considering in their decision-making process: trimming the field to two or three finalists, ask one or more cities to revise their proposals, and continuing with the current five bidders.
The decision was made after reviewing initial proposals and a poll of international olympic officials which asked:
"Is the time right for a U.S. city to bid to host the games?" and "which of the 5 cities would receive the most favorable consideration."
