Man Found Hanging From Tree in Southwest Side Park

CHICAGO (STNG) ― Police are investigating the death of a man found hanging from a tree in a park in the Southwest Side's Morgan Park neighborhood Sunday.

Stephan Borvan, of the 11200 block of South Fairfield Avenue, was found hanging from a tree in Kennedy Park near 113th Street and Maplewood Avenue, a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Borvan, 39, was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:30 p.m., the spokesman said.

It was unknown Sunday night whether Borvan's death was a homicide or a suicide, and police said they are conducting a death investigation pending the results of his autopsy.

An autopsy for Borvan is slated for Monday.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
