Chicago Lotto Player One Number Away From $22M

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Someone who bought a Mega Millions ticket at a North Side gas station came close, oh so close, to claiming at least a big share of the multi-state lottery's $22 million jackpot Tuesday night.

The sole player matching all five numbers plus the Mega number was in the state of New York, according to the Illinois Lottery.

One player in Illinois, however, matched the five numbers: 22-25-33-36 and 48, but missed the Mega number, 40.

That player, for matching those five of six numbers, will collect $250,000.

The ticket was sold at the BP Gas & Food Mart, 1841 W. Devon Ave., according to the Illinois Lottery.

The next Mega Millions drawing, for a $12 million jackpot, will be Friday.
