LEMONT, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― About three and a half hours after it broke out Monday, a fire in a scrapyard in southwest suburban Lemont has been put out.

The box alarm fire broke out about 3:50 p.m. and was put out by 7:30 p.m., according to a Lemont firefighter. It was in the scrapyard at 16229 New Ave., according to a police dispatcher.
