2 Kiddieland Trains Down, 21 Rides To Be Auctioned

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ― Two Kiddieland trains that took children around the now-shuttered Melrose Park amusement park have been sold.

The trains were purchased by Bill McHenry, founder and president of Gas City, a Frankfort, Ill.-based company that owns gas stations/mini-marts/car washes in Illinois, Indiana, Arizona, and Florida.

The remaining 21 Kiddieland rides will be included in an auction at 10 a.m. Tuesday, when Norton Auctioneers of Michigan comes to the park in an effort to sell off what's left. The amusement park closed Oct. 4.
