$325K Bond For Teen In Fatal Maywood Shooting
MAYWOOD, Ill. (STNG) ―
Bond was set at $325,000 Thursday for a 16-year-old boy charged as an adult with murder for the shooting death of a west suburban man in September.
Cook County Judge Mary Roberts set the $325,000 bond for DeAngelo Terrell of Aurora, charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tommy L. Johnson of Maywood, according to Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin.
Terrell came with his mother to turn himself in to police on Monday, according to Maywood police Sgt. Tim Curry.
Johnson, 23, was shot at 1 a.m. on Sept. 27 in the 600 block of 17th Avenue in Maywood, police said. He was found unresponsive in a doorway.
"It was believed a verbal dispute contributed to that shooting," Curry said.
He said Terrell may be affiliated with a gang but the shooting was not gang-related.
Terrell is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 10 in Room 103 of the Maywood Courthouse, Conklin said.
