Cook County Jail Inmate Assaulted

(STNG) An inmate was assaulted at Cook County Jail today, sending ambulances to the scene.

The assault occurred at around 12 p.m. in Division IX of Cook County Jail, located on the 2800 block of West 31st Street, according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford.

Ambulances were pulling up to the jail as of 12:20 p.m. and it was not immediately known how serious the injuries were, he said.
