Woman Killed By Blue Line Train
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A Northwest Side woman was struck and killed by a CTA Blue Line train Thursday night in the Irving Park neighborhood.
Elzbieta Skolucka, 52, of 4821 W. Belle Plaine Ave., was struck by a train at 4600 W. Montrose Ave. and was dead on the scene, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.
A Blue Line train stuck a pedestrian at the Montrose station about 7:30 p.m., CTA spokeswoman Wanda Taylor said.
Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor said Skolucka was pinned under the train when paramedics arrived.
Blue Line service was limited to a single track after the accident, but all trains were running normally as of 10:30 p.m., Taylor said.
An autopsy is scheduled for later Friday.
