CPS Student Dies 10 Months After Harvey Shooting
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) ―
A 15-year-old South Side boy died Thursday morning from injuries he apparently suffered in a shooting last May in south suburban Harvey, marking the 30th Chicago Public Schools student death this school year.
Rakeem Robinson, of 5704 S. Indiana Ave., was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey at 11:55 a.m., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman, who said Robinson was shot in May 2008 at 121 E. 154th St. in Harvey.
Robinson, who was 14 at the time of the shooting, was a student at Dunbar Vocational Career Academy, Chicago Public Schools officials said Friday.
He becomes the 30th CPS student to die this school year.
Results from a Friday autopsy were pending medical records and further studies, the medical examiner's office said.
Harvey police could not be reached for further details on the shooting.
